Volunteers are the back bone of our
organization. Their hard work and dedication are what make our
mission possible.

Interested in volunteering? There
is always plenty to do at Rainbow Meadows! Tasks include:

Grooming and care of our rescues;

Assisting with construction, repair or other
projects at the facilities;

Speaking to local organizations and schools
about Rainbow Meadows and its mission;

Participating in annual fundraising events;
and

Many others

We are always in need
of volunteers! Below are some specific volunteer roles we
would like to fill:
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Purpose:
Assist Rainbow Meadows in the recruitment and coordination
of our volunteer base. Organize biannual orientation and
on-going training.
Skill set:
Strong organizational skills, enjoys working with people
Monthly time commitment:
10-15 hours per month, approximately half on-site, half
off-site
WEB MASTER
Purpose:
Assist Rainbow Meadows in enhancing its web presence through
a redesign of current site and maintaining new site
Skill set:
Previous experience in site construction, knowledge and
interest in new web technologies
Monthly time commitment:
Variable during site redesign, 3-6 hours monthly for
maintenance
TIME-OFF-TEAM MEMBERS
Purpose:
Provide on-site assistance with basic rescue
operations in the event of an emergency or unavailability of
our operations managers, Karen and David Everhart
Skill set:
Basic horse handling skills, good
organization, ability to work in a team
Monthly time commitment:
Dependent on availability of other team
members, may vary anywhere from 0-2 days per month
TRAINERS/HANDLERS
Purpose:
To provide rescue horses with ground work
and/or in-saddle time, allowing us to assess them for
training level and improve adoptability.
Skill set:
Intermediate horse handling/riding skills
(upper beginner welcomed if open to instruction)
Monthly time commitment:
1-2 days (4-6 hours per day), on-site, to be
scheduled with executive director
